stuck in the heat... (am.16.jun.12)>

We have 100% sunshine early on this Saturday morning, with a little light haze around the area.  Once again there has been no rainfall to report during the past 24 hours.  I recorded a high temp of 90.5F (32.5C) on Friday afternoon, which was the warmest since the 2nd of June -- and this morning's overnight low temp was a warm 76.8F (24.9C).

We're dealing with a very inactive upper-air pattern.  The flow is very light, and temperatures are relatively warm even into the higher levels of the atmosphere.  This is what has pretty much killed off our instability, and prevented thundershowers from popping up in all but a few of the highest mountain areas during the past few days.  A random pocket of colder air aloft could ignite an isolated PM thundershower somewhere in the mountains, otherwise it should remain dry for the vast majority of us for at least another few days.

Our temperatures are back into close range of the warmest we've seen all season long -- with no significant cooling expected, even into the middle of next week.  It's going to take the arrival of some tropical humidity along with some significant rainfall to cool down this big bubble of mid-summer heat which is parked across northern India; but there are no strong indications of that occurring anytime soon...
