cloudy start... (am.11.jun.12)>

Skies are mostly cloudy across the area at sunrise on this Monday morning.  A couple of very weak thundershowers moved through overnight, providing just a few raindrops and some gusty winds at times, but as we've gotten used to, there was nothing measurable in the rain gauge.  The overnight low temp dropped to 67.6F (19.8C) during the wee hours of the morning, but the temp has rebounded to 71.5F (21.9C) at the time of this posting.

Cloudiness this morning is due to another lingering disturbance in the upper atmosphere that contains some colder air aloft.  Although a bubble of high pressure continues to attempt to develop over north India, these minor disturbances have been delaying the process a bit.  Unfortunately, there will probably not be much in the way of rainfall associated with these clouds... as we remain much drier than normal for the first one-third of June.  A couple of light showers or thundershowers are possible though, so keep that in mind, as always, if you're venturing into the mountains.

As the week goes on, we'll expect that high pressure ridge to exert more influence.  This will allow a good amount of sunshine, along with temperatures that could rise well above normal for the middle of June -- especially by the end of the week.
