repeat mode... (am.17.jun.12)>

Another warm and sunny morning is getting started.  My overnight low here on Tushita Road just below the mountaineering center has been a warm 76.3F (24.6C), and the rain gauge remains dry and dusty (with a few cobwebs as well).

As we've passed the mid-point of June, and are now approaching the summer solstice, this month remains out of character.  Total rainfall remains at a paltry 0.29" (7mm) -- compared to over 6" (15cm) by this time last June.  And apart from a few cooler days during the second week of the month, temperatures have been above normal to WELL above normal.  With every new run of the computer model data, I keep waiting for evidence of tropical moisture beginning to edge northward along the front ranges of the mountains, which is normally happening by this time of year.  But all signs point to us remaining high and dry through most of the coming week.  The exception is a small bubble of moisture and instability which could increase our humidity a bit and give us a chance of a thundershower from Monday night into Tuesday.

I've recorded a high temperature at or above 90F the last two days, and it looks like we'll easily stay in that range during the coming days.  Overnight lows are also stuck in the warm zone, but fortunately, since the humidity is low, it should stay fairly tolerable...
