back to 'great'... (pm.09.jun.12)>

A near perfect evening in progress... with partly cloudy skies and comfortably warm temperatures.  Clouds developed over the mountains before noon, we had some faint rumbles of thunder during the early to mid-afternoon, but here in McLeod, the sunshine won the day.  I recorded a high temp of 83.8F (28.8C), which was the warmest since Tuesday, and very close to normal for the second week of June.

Our air mass will remain slightly unstable for another day or so, which could mean the sudden development of a thundershower... but other than that, things should be fairly quiet.  The general trend over the course of the coming several days will be for warmer air to retake control of the upper atmosphere, which should increase stability and limit the risk of significant rainfall, right into the middle of next week.  We have yet to get into a pre-monsoon shower pattern, and unless there are dramatic, unexpected developments, this drier than normal month of June should continue on -- as is.

Today's warm-up was more aggressive than expected, and it looks like we can look forward to more seasonably warm weather.  In fact, there are indications that temps could rise well above normal by Wednesday and Thursday...
