weekend changes... (pm.02.mar.12)>

We're winding up a really nice day.  The cumulus clouds didn't go crazy over the Dhauladars this afternoon, so we got to enjoy uninterrupted sunshine.  I recorded a high temp of 61.3F (16.3F), which occurred around 3:30pm.

It was good to see that the cold air aloft is getting replaced by some warmer temps... which kept the atmosphere more stable today.  Milder air is going to be flowing in throughout all levels of the atmosphere during the next two to three days, in advance of the next storm system.  But clouds will be on the increase again, along with a better and better chance of some significant shower and thunderstorm action by Sunday.  Currently, the best target for a period or two of moderate to heavy rainfall is early Sunday through mid-day Monday... computer models are forecasting around 3cm (1.2") for our area, which would actually be nice to receive.

Temperatures will be feeling rather spring-like over the weekend, with the warmest readings of 2012 very likely... but some slightly cooler air is expected by the middle of next week after this storm system passes.
