sun - but shower risk... (am.07.mar.12)>

We have 100% clear skies early this morning as the sun peeks over the mountains.  It's been a chilly night... I've recorded a low temp of 46.9F (8.3C).  There has been no rainfall since the few sprinkles late yesterday afternoon.

Things are sure looking hopeful this morning... but we may be seeing a different scenario by this afternoon.  A couple of weak upper-level disturbances containing pockets of very cold air aloft will be sliding through the area during the next 24 hours.  Honestly, this is the most difficult weather situation to get a handle on here on the edge of the mountains.  There is going to be increasing instability as the surface heats up during the morning and mid-day hours... which could lead to some scattered showers and/or thunderstorms popping up.  That potential will last overnight, and into Thursday as well.  Enjoy the morning sun... but at least be prepared for a sudden turn of events... both today and tomorrow.

Although I'm not totally confident in a shower-less weekend... at this point it does appear that sunshine will dominate.  Temperatures will remain a notch or two below normal for early March... but fairly pleasant nonetheless...
