rising up... (am.10.mar.12)>

We have a good-looking Saturday morning in progress, with some sun and just a few scruffy cumulus clouds.  It's not quite as cold as it was this time yesterday... I recorded a pre-dawn low temperature of 45.1F (7.3C).

It is Tibetan Uprising Day... one of the most significant days of the year on the Tibetan calendar... and it looks like the weather will cooperate.  There are no significant storm systems threatening the area this weekend, but as slightly wamer air begins to replace the unseasonably cold air of the last few days, we could see an isolated shower or thundershower over the mountains.  Keep that almost ever-present caveat in mind; but the vast majority of our daylight hours both today and Sunday should feature sunshine.

There is some disagreement among the computer models about a relatively weak storm system for Monday and Tuesday.  We'll have to watch it for the potential for a round or two of showers and thunderstorms... followed by truly springtime temperatures as we get into the latter half of next week...
