Our day is just as beautiful at its end, as it was gloomy at the start. We have a mostly clear sky just before sunset, after a very cloudy morning, and a slowly improving afternoon. Today's high of 55.9F (13.3C) was the coolest I've recorded since Saturday, the 25th of February.
Despite the cloudy start and chilly temperatures, we did manage a dry day, as the widely scattered showers remained deeper into the mountains once again... good news for those attending the teachings, and celebrating Holi. There remains an extremely cold pool of air aloft over northern India, along with temperatures here at the surface which are running 8-10F below normal for this time of year. The pattern will be slowly shifting starting tomorrow, allowing us to enjoy a good amount of sunshine, along with a very, very gradual warming trend. Keep in mind that the potential still exists for a build-up of clouds over the mountains during the afternoons... with an outside chance of an isolated thundershower.
It looks like we'll struggle back closer to normal March temps early next week in advance of the next storm system which will increase rain chances again by late Monday...
