still some showers... (pm.05.mar.12)>

Approaching sunset this evening... we have mostly cloudy skies.  The rumbles of thunder and few showers we had this morning have yielded another 0.08" (2mm) of rain, giving us a total of 1.76" (4.5cm) since the first showers began on Sunday morning.  There have only been a few fleeting glimpses of sunshine all day... holding our high temp to just 59.4F (15.2C).

Although we haven't had a lot of rain today, our weather scenario remains generally messy, with a broad and stagnant disturbance in the upper atmosphere remaining entrenched over the western Himalayan region.  It will be weakening during the next day or two, but the pattern aloft is far from quiet and stable, which will keep us from totally breaking out into an extended dry and sunny stretch.  We could see more showers and possibly a thunderstorm tonight... with off and on chances of passing thundershowers refusing to let go of us for much of the week.

Temperatures aren't really winter-like anymore... but are also refusing to rise to the levels that we would start to expect this time of year.  In fact, it should remain a few degrees below normal right into the weekend...
