seasonal norms... (am.23.mar.12)>

We have partly cloudy skies just before sunrise this morning... as some patches of high clouds have begun to move in from the west.  It is mild; I'm recording an overnight low temp of 57.4F (14.1C), with a current humidity reading of just 22%.

The high clouds this morning are evidence of a surge of warming occurring in the mid- and upper-levels of the atmosphere.  We'll still get plenty of sunshine today though, and temperatures will climb higher for the third day in a row.  After our brief downturn during the middle of the week, temps will be back to near normal for late March from today through the weekend.

Computer models are wrestling with the arrival of a series of weak upper-level disturbances early next week.  It looks like we could get a stray thundershower by Sunday evening, with a little better chance of a couple of rounds of showers and thunderstorms on Monday into Tuesday.  At the moment, it appears that moisture will be severely limited... so rainfall amounts should be on the ligher side.  April is normally the second-driest month of the year, so it would be nice to pick up some rain whenever we can!!
