Apart from some light haze, skies are clear early this morning just before sunrise. Temperatures to start the day are very close to normal for this time of year... I'm recording an overnight low of 54.1F(12.3C). That will translate into a very pleasant morning as the sun peeks over the mountains in just a few minutes.
Everything is looking very stable for the next few days, as a ridge of high pressure builds back into the area. Warming both at the surface and aloft should prevent much cloud development over the mountains, allowing us to enjoy lots of sunshine... despite the slight dimming effect of the haze. Expect temps to be back above the 21C/70F mark by tomorrow... and that seasonably warm weather should last through the weekend.
The next storm system looks unimpressive as it arrives late Sunday. Our shower and thunderstorm chances will increase from Sunday evening through Monday, but at this point, I think it will be difficult for us to pick up much in the way of significant rainfall amounts. We are right on the brink of what typically is the second-driest stretch of the year (check SPRING/SUMMER OUTLOOK and WETTEST MONTHS) tabs above for details.
