february temps... (pm.09.mar.12)>

Our evening skies are mostly clear... after a mostly sunny day.  It's been undeniably cool, however.  I recorded an afternoon high temp of 56.8F (13.8C), which is closer to the norm for the middle of February.

The fact that temperatures were this cool today, despite the predominance of fairly strong March sunshine indicates that this air mass that is encamped across nothern India is very unseasonable indeed.  Although there is no aggressive surge of warmer air from the south expected for the next several days, we do expect a slow and gradual moderation of temperatures, as the overall weather pattern readjusts itself.  We should be closer to normal for this time of year as we progress through the first half of next week.

There are no significant storm systems on the horizon, but our upper-level pattern will continue to lend itself to the occasional weak ripple and pool of cold air aloft... which means that an isolated shower or thundershower at some point is not out of the question... especially late Monday and Tuesday.  Apart from all that, sunshine should be pretty easy to come by...
