We have a partly cloudy sky this evening... but there were a few sprinkles in the upper part of town, at least, between about 4 and 5pm. The day balanced out in the favor of sunshine, which allowed my temperature to top out at 58.5F (14.7C).
There were some stubborn clumps of cumulus clouds hanging along the mountains this morning which threatened to spoil the day, but it was nice to see the sun take over during the noon hour. The atmosphere is a bit conflicted... with lingering unseasonably cold air trying to make way for an insurgence of milder air from the surface all the way up through the jet stream level. This keeps our forecast from being totally cut-and-dried, as we'll have to watch and see how the mountain micro-effects influence this transition. I still think the sunshine will get the upper hand tomorrow... but we'll have to watch out again for some patchy clouds and even an isolated, brief shower.
One computer model continues to paint a wet Monday for us, while the other model guidance downplays this next weather system. At any rate, it looks like our shower and thunderstorm potential will increase for Monday and Tuesday... as temperatures slowly moderate into the latter part of the coming week...
