We're in the midst of a murky, hazy, foggy, cloudy, breezy evening, after a day that has swung crazily between sunshine and clouds on a couple of occasions. The high temperature on this first "official" day of SPRING reached 70.0F (21.1C) during the noon hour when the sun was shining brightly, but it cooled off several degrees (to around 63F/17C) late this afternoon. I've recorded no measurable rainfall today on Tushita Road in the upper part of town.
Showers and thunderstorms have remained to our north and northeast today, for the most part. In spite of the very ominous-looking sky at several points, it remained dry, other than a few random sprinkles in some areas. Satellite photos show our latest upper-level disturbance over western Kashmir... rapidly weakening as it moves further northeast into the mountains. We could still see a shower or thunderstorm during the next few hours, but our window of opportunity for picking up some decent rainfall is closing fast. It seems that the gusty winds and thick clouds were all this system has been able to throw at us.
Cooler weather is already arriving... but it won't last long. Another warming trend will get started by the end of the week, with temperatures likely to rise again above 70F/21C... thanks to the cooperation of a good dose of spring sunshine.
