warmer air arriving... (am.16.mar.12)>

Waking up to a mild morning... my overnight low has been just 51.6F (10.9C), but it doesn't take a thermometer to notice the change.  There are some patchy high clouds drifting through as we approach sunrise.

Those high clouds are an indication of the warming that is occurring in the middle and upper-levels of the atmosphere... the leading edge of a dramatically changing weather pattern.  We still look on track for the warmest weather of the season, by far, over the weekend into early next week.  As I've been mentioning, it is always interesting (and challenging) to try to determine how our mountain micro-climate factors are going to play into this change.  I'm not totally convinced yet that we'll be able to completely avoid a sudden shower or thundershower at some point... but I do think that much milder air and periods of nice sunshine will win out.

Computer models are now showing 32C (90F) for Kangra on Monday, and 35-37C (95-99F) for Delhi on Monday through Wednesday of next week.  For the plains of north India... a summer preview.

A more significant weather system is on the horizon for Tuesday... which will lead to a better chance of rain, along with a cooling trend here in the mountains for the middle of next week...
