Temperatures early this morning remain very mild for this time of year, but we've had some strong and gusty winds off and on since about 8pm last evening. My overnight low (and current temp) is 64.6F (18.1C), with nothing more than a few sprinkles of rain. It's mostly cloudy... with a humidity reading of just 36%.
That approaching upper-level disturbance we've been talking about is crashing through north India now, and is obviously causing some atmospheric upheaval. This system has a good amount of dynamic energy, but the air is very dry so far, so all it has been able to do is kick up a lot of wind, as a slightly cooler air mass starts to replace the very warm one that has been overhead the past few days. There could still be some passing showers, and perhaps a thunderstorm or two today, so be on the lookout for that. There is nothing immediately threatening, at the time of this post, but we could see some action develop right on top of us as the day wears on.
A nice stretch of weather is expected for the rest of the week, after this system moves out tonight. Although temperatures will be a bit cooler, it is looking like a fresh warming trend will get started rather quickly, keeping us in the comfort zone, while we get to enjoy a good amount of spring sunshine...
by the way... the SPRING EQUINOX occurs at 10:44am IST today. That means the direct rays of the sun are on the equator, on their way back into the northern hemisphere for the spring/summer seasons.
