temps on the upswing... (pm.22.mar.12)>

A day of full sunshine is drawing to a close.  Skies are clear this evening, after a high temperature of 67.6F (19.8C) in the upper part of town.  One week ago, we would have considered that relatively "warm", but after the 70-74F (21-23C) temps we enjoyed earlier this week, our perspective has changed... whetting our appetites for the next phase of springtime.

There is still some haze lingering, but it seemed that visibilities were a bit better today.  The atmosphere is totally devoid of instability, with a gentle west-to-east flow aloft.  Our air mass has been very slowly warming during the past 36 hours, and will continue to do so as we head into the weekend.  It looks like we're in line for our second string of 21C/70F+ days this season.  It'll be approaching 30C/86F once again down toward Kangra.

A series of weak disturbances embedded in the upper-level flow will begin to materialize by late Sunday, and that will introduce at least a couple of days of unsettled weather.  A round or two of showers and thunderstorms could occur from Sunday evening through Tuesday, but at least at this point, it doesn't look particularly dramatic.  As always, stay tuned...
