partly cloudy skies and 17C/63F early this morning. after barely any rainfall all day yesterday, we got a good soaking between 10pm and midnight. overnight rainfall totals:
-upper mcleod ganj... 1.20" (3cm)
-naddi village... 1.33" (3.4cm)
-near the main temple... 1.55" (3.9cm)
that brings the total for september at the wxgeek office up to 6.88" (17.5cm).
this morning's satellite pics are showing that things have calmed down for the most part across northern india... although there are a couple of showers in southern HP and uttar anchal. we will see a bit of sun between the clouds and fog again today, and that sunshine will warm things up and stir up the atmosphere enough to ignite more scattered showers and thundershowers, mainly during the PM hours. this pattern will continue for the next few days, although it looks like thursday and friday are the best candidates for generally LOWER rainfall potential, and perhaps a greater proportion of sunshine. but honestly, although officially and technically we only have about 6-8 days left of the monsoon season... i am not seeing indications of a permanent retreat just yet...
