well... we've had what you might call a rainy afternoon. there've been a couple of moments when there was thunder, rain and sun happening simultaneously... but the rainfall has been fairly substantial:
-near main temple... 0.70" (1.8cm)
-upper mcleod ganj... 0.60" (1.5cm)
the temperatures have been creeping up the last couple of days... the high at the top of mcleod ganj was 21.5C/71F.
it's one of those evenings when the satellite pic has "chicken pox" syndrome... there are showers and thundershowers scattered from eastern pakistan and kashmir, through himachal pradesh, and on southeastward into uttar anchal and nepal. most of these will die out overnight, but we can't rule out a few survivors. the highlights for the next few days include a trend toward slightly drier weather from tomorrow into friday... with a good chance that we will see an increase in sunshine potential, and temperatures. then... rain chances, fog and humidity increase again on saturday and sunday. i know most of us are anxious to see the backside of the monsoon, HOWEVER, other than a break or two here and there, it shows no signs of retreating for good during the next week... at least...
