we are surrounded by clouds and fog again this evening... after lots of morning sun and a mix of sun, clouds and fog during the afternoon. we even had a few rumbles of thunder between 100 and 330pm, which got me a little worried..! our high temp today at the wxgeek office was 21C/70F.
i keep expecting to see a decrease in the amount of clouds and fog during the mid-afternoon through the evening hours... and am a bit surprised that this lingering moisture is still clinging to the mountains. satellite photos show just very narrow strips of clouds and fog riding the front ranges of the himalayas from kashmir through himachal pradesh and uttar anchal. but, despite these conditions, only very isolated and brief thundershowers have been able to develop. of course the gloom will lift right after sunset, leaving us with mostly clear skies overnight, and another sunny start tomorrow. reload and repeat the above formula the next few days. i still think the PM clouds and fog should gradually relent as we head through the week... but we'll just have to keep tabs on it day by day. at any rate, other than an isolated, brief shower, rainfall is unlikely right through the end of the coming week...
