we have mostly cloudy skies and a rather cool 15C/59F early this morning. there was no additional rainfall overnight (thank goodness), but we're just now starting to get some showers again. here are the totals for the last 36 hours, along with the totals for the month of september:
-near main temple... 6.25" (15.9cm) sunday evening - monday. 14.25" (36.2cm) for september.
-upper mcleod ganj... 6.75" (17.1cm) sunday evening - monday. 13.56" (34.4cm) for september.
our tropical moisture is on its way out for a few days. we'll still have to contend with some rain and thundershowers today, but a surge of drier air is scheduled to push through tomorrow, and force most of the unstable monsoon air to our south and east. at this point, i'm expecting little or no rainfall on thursday and friday... along with some longer stretches of sunshine, lower humidity and less fog. however, it appears that we won't get to declare an official END to the monsoon season this week, as that moisture (along with increasing rain chances) will return on saturday. remember, one of the criteria for monsoon withdrawal is 5 days in a row without rainfall. i'm pretty skeptical of that happening just yet...
