here's a look back at the month of august 2010. temperature data is from the weathergeek office at the top of mcleod ganj, just below the mountaineering center, and 2-3 minutes walk below tushita meditation center. rainfall data is from both upper mcleod ganj, and near the dalai lama's temple in lower mcleod ganj.
total rainfall for the month:
-near main temple... 44.65" (113.4cm)
-upper mcleod ganj... 39.23" (99.6cm)
heaviest 24 hour rainfall occurred near the main temple on 30-31 august... 6.85" (17.4cm)
maximum temperature for the month... 23.5C (73.5F) on both 28 aug & 30 aug.
minimum temperature for the month... 15.9C (60.6F) on 25 aug.
obviously, there is very little temperature variability in the middle of the monsoon season.
surprisingly, the total rainfall for the entire monsoon season (since 1 july) at both of our regular reporting sites is near 71" (180cm).
