sunday evening>

the fog is very thick early this evening... and we've had scattered showers (and a bit of thunder) off and on for most of the afternoon. 0.35" (9mm) was measured near the main temple, but i've only had 0.10" (2mm) here in upper mcleod ganj. the sunshine early this morning wasn't enough to warm temperatures up very much today... i recorded a high of only 20C/68F.

just like the past 2 days, scattered showers and thundershowers cover much of the north indian himalayan front range, and will continue to pop up and then fizzle out. there are still no significant changes being forecast by any of our computer model guidance... the stubborn monsoon moisture refuses to budge... so don't expect an end to the foggy, murky, showery conditions in the near future. we are within a week to 10 days of the AVERAGE end of the monsoon season, and will await the shift to drier, westerly winds in the mid-levels of the atmosphere that will chase the tropical moisture away. i'll let you know as soon as i catch a glimpse of it!
