there is not one cloud to be found in this morning's pre-sunrise sky... with a current temperature of 15.5C/60F. rainfall has been very light and spotty for the last 3 days, but our totals for the month of september are as follows:
-near the main temple... 16.8" (42.7cm)
-upper mcleod ganj... 15.75" (40cm)
we we have definitely "turned the corner" with regard to the monsoon season of 2010. although we're still getting some periods of clouds and fog during the afternoon and evening hours, the deep tropical moisture has been pushed well to our south and east, and the atmosphere is stabilizing day by day. with west-northwesterly winds in the mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere, a large area of high pressure will continue to become established over rajasthan and gujarat... that will effectively BLOCK the return of the juicy tropical air. our morning sunshine will continue to be interrupted by PM clouds and fog... due to all the moisture being evaporated out of the moist ground and carried uphill... but even that will become less of a factor in the coming days. temperatures will stay right in the middle of the comfort zone!
