clouds are beginning to break up already this evening, after a mostly cloudy afternoon. we had some nice sunshine during the morning, but a few hours of thick cloud cover dominated from mid-day into the late afternoon. today's high temp in upper mcleod ganj was only 20.5C/69F.
satellite pics this evening show the same story of the past few days... narrow lines of clouds continue to cling to the front ranges of the mountains all the way from kashmir, through himachal pradesh and uttar anchal, into nepal. no significant rainfall is occurring anywhere, but there is just enough moisture in the air to respond to the morning sunshine, rise upslope, and condense into clouds and a bit of fog by the afternoon hours. wall-to-wall sunshine graces the rest of northern india. no serious changes are on the horizon during the next several days. there should be a lessening of the afternoon cloudiness, but i don't see a dramatic push of bone-dry central asian air strong enough to sweep this lingering moisture completely out of here. anyway...enjoy the morning sun, and the pleasant early fall temps while they last...
