umbrella within reach... (am.18.jun.11)>

a large area of rain and thunderstorms has been sliding just south of us across much of punjab into southern himachal pradesh overnight... but we are dry, with mostly cloudy skies at the moment.  the overnight low temp has been 66.6F (19.2C), and our humidity stands at 72%.

a cocktail of pre-monsoon conditions is in the forecast again today... and for the next several days for that matter.  there will be times when it will feel and look like the middle of july, but with our average humidity remaining generally below 75-80%, clearing will come easily between occasional downpours of rain (as we saw yesterday).  but i think we can all agree that we've reached the time when it's not a great idea to leave home without the trusty umbrella.  [regular updates on the progress of monsoon on MONSOON WATCH tab above]

although humidity will be on the rise into the middle of next week, temperatures will be very pleasant... one of the positive benefits of the season...
