we have clear skies and 68.5F (20.3C) as the sun peeks over the mountains this morning. there has been no precipitation overnight, and only 0.01" (0.2mm) in the past 24 hours.
sunshine will be abundant for a while this morning before the clouds develop again over the mountains... most likely before noon. it looks like the haze is back as well. there are really no distinguishing features in the upper-level pattern... but moisture continues to increase all along the mountains, so the daytime heating will create enough instability to fire up some random showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. we'll be repeating that scenario each day this week... so be on the lookout for a period of afternoon through evening and overnight rain and thunder. otherwise get used to the new reality of higher humidity.
temperatures have been pretty steady the last several days, and should stay that way or perhaps warm up another degree or two as we head through the week. enjoy these nice periods of warm sunshine, because it won't be long before the clouds and fog dominate for days on end...
