a very nice evening is shaping up... with mostly sunny skies and a few lingering clouds hanging over the mountain peaks. we had a couple of classic "sun showers" between 2:00 and 3:00pm today, which deposited 0.04" (1mm) in my rain gauge at the top of mcleod ganj. i never heard any thunder, and the sun was shining the whole time, but the raindrops were pretty fat and juicy for a few minutes! temps were warmer today... but we've now had eight days in a row without breaching the 80F barrier. it was close... 79.9F (26.6C).
it looks like a nice weekend is on the way, although we'll have to keep an eye on the potential for another random afternoon shower or two. there are no significant storm systems on the horizon right through the five-day forecast period, as a weak ridge of high pressure continues trying to build in. each day should feature a good amount of sun, some clouds billowing over the mountains during the afternoon hours, and at least a slight risk of a passing shower or thundershower. all in all, a very typical early june weather scenario.
there are indications that our temps may rise quite bit during the next several days... but i am going with a rather conservative warming trend for now, based on how unusually cool it has been for the past week.
