the temp is 61.7F (16.5C) just before sunrise this morning, but i recorded an overnight low of 56.3F (13.5C)...which is extremely chilly for this time of year. there is 0.42" (1.1cm) in the rain gauge this morning, and that brings our total rainfall since late tuesday night up to 1.43" (3.6cm). the satellite view indicates all of last night's activity has weakened and moved east of us.
the muscular upper-level disturbance that has kept us in and out of the rain and thunder during the past 32 hours will be totally out of here by tonight. in the meantime, there is a good possibility that we could see yet another round of showers and thunderstorms today. the system arrived a little early, and looks like it will also depart a little early... but we'll have to watch to see if it can stir up another round of storms before it gives up. there will be some sunshine today, but if you're going to be out and about and away from shelter, be prepared and aware that things could turn ugly again.
things will definitely calm down for the weekend... as weak high pressure tries to build into the area. we'll see some warming from the surface into the middle and upper atmosphere, so it should be much more stable for at least a couple of days. our current temps are incredibly cool for early june... but don't think that summertime is gone for good... we'll bounce back dramatically during the next several days.
THURSDAY: a mix of sunshine and clouds... still a good chance of another round of showers and/or thunderstorms. still unseasonably cool.
high: 24C (75F)
THURSDAY NIGHT: any showers or storms ending early. becoming mostly clear overnight.
low: 16C (61F)
FRIDAY: mostly sunny skies. comfortable temps.
high: 26C (78F)
SATURDAY: sunshine with a few PM mountain clouds. warming up.
high: 27C (80F)
SUNDAY: partly to mostly sunny and warm. risk of a PM mountain thundershower.
high: 28C (82F)
MONDAY: sunny to partly cloudy skies.
high: 28C (82F)
