cloudy skies this morning... the low temp has been 68.5F (20.3C), and the humdity is the highest i've seen it yet... 74%. we've had no rainfall since wednesday afternoon, but that may be changing shortly.
satellite pics show a few clusters of showers and thunderstorms to our west and north, and the upper level flow is driving them towards the southeast. be on the lookout for a couple of periods of thundershowers today... and they may not wait until the afternoon. the atmosphere continues to become more and more moisture-laden, but a northwesterly flow aloft is keeping the northern limit of the monsoon stalled out across south-central and eastern india. that's really only a technicality, though, since we'll see increasingly monsoon-like conditions here during the next several days.
sunshine will be at a premium and humidity high... so there won't be much fluctuation between daytime and overnight temperatures. our highest temp of the entire summer season was 86.5F (30.3C) back on the 16th of may... it looks like we won't have an opportunity to challenge that again this year.
