it's hazy and partly cloudy at dawn this morning, with a temp of 68.4F (20.2C). low temperatures the last three or four mornings have been very consistent. it doesn't look like there has been any additional rainfall overnight. total rainfall for june is just over 6" (15.2cm) as of the mid-point of the month... wetter than normal, but insignificant compared to what will be coming in july and august.
satellite pics show numerous patches of low and mid-level cloudiness across himachal pradesh, but there doesn't appear to be any shower and thunderstorm action at the moment. that could change at any time... especially as we get into the afternoon hours and the sun has had a chance to heat up the atmosphere a bit. our humidity continues to creep up day by day... and should be mainly in the 60-70% range today... that's an indication that the atmosphere is storing plenty of moisture to feed a few moderate to heavy showers. for the next few days, there will continue to be a light flow from the north in the upper levels... which will carry any PM showers and storms off the mountains and right into mcleod ganj. (remember to check the MONSOON WATCH tab above for updates on the "official" progress of monsoon conditions across the subcontinent.)
the sun is going to have a hard time winning the battle with the clouds... but periods of sunshine here and there will keep temps close to where they've been for the last 8 to 10 days or so...
