skies are mostly clear just before sunrise this morning, with a pleasant temp of 65.8F (18.8C) to start the day. from the satellite perspective, things are quiet and calm all across the western himalayas. looks like fine weather for HHDL's teachings at TCV starting at 9am.
the strong upper-level disturbance that has kept us in and out of the rain, or at least under the threat of rain, has moved out of the picture... and we are left with a gradually building ridge of high pressure in its wake. high pressure indicates generally stable conditions, along with steadily warming temperatures in all levels of the atmosphere. this pattern should remain with us right into the middle of next week... with no signs of another system like we experienced during the middle of this past week. having said that... we'll be back in the mundane summer pattern which can produce those random afternoon thundershowers over the mountains on just about any given afternoon. it's nothing to be really concerned about, but don't be surprised by some rumbling thunder or maybe a light shower or two for a couple of hours during the afternoon during one or two days of the coming week.
temperatures have been below normal for SEVEN days now... it's been a nice break from the heat in the middle of (typically) the warmest time of the year. our luck is running out, though. we should see a gradual warming trend right through the coming forecast period which will land us back where we should be, temperature-wise, during early june.
