it's a very nice, comfortable saturday evening, with partly sunny skies. although the clouds looked ominous for a while this afternoon, it has been dry again (now two days in a row)... and our temperature managed to peak out at 77.2F (25.1C). humidity remains moderately high... it's been around 55-60% during the afternoon hours.
there are thunderstorms rapidly developing across northern pakistan and roughly the western half of kashmir this evening, and the upper-air flow will carry them southeastward into our area later tonight... if they hold together. the atmosphere has been only marginally unstable for the past 36 hours or so... due to the warming which is occurring in the mid- and upper levels. we still haven't been able to capitalize on much of a warm-up here at the surface, but conditions remain favorable for a couple of degrees of warming during the next few days. unfortunately, due to the humidity in place, even slightly warmer temps are going to make things rather muggy and uncomfortable.
we're in a pretty normal pre-monsoon pattern... and that means scattered mainly afternoon and overnight thunderstorms will remain a good possibility into early next week... although we'll see extended periods of hazy sunshine and dry conditions in between. the air is now quite moisture-laden, so a round of thundershowers could easily produce more than 0.50" (1.3cm) of rain.
SATURDAY NIGHT: partly cloudy... a round of thunderstorms is possible overnight.
low: 21C (69F)
SUNDAY: a mix of hazy sunshine and clouds. chance of a period of showers/thunderstorms.
high: 26C (79F)
MONDAY: partly sunny and muggy. one or two thundershowers possible.
high: 27C (80F)
TUESDAY: partly sunny skies. warm and humid, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm, mainly in the PM.
high: 27C (81F)
WEDNESDAY: warm and humid with hazy sunshine and some clouds.
high: 28C (82F)
THURSDAY: mix of sun and clouds. muggy, with a thunderstorm or two possible.
high: 27C (81F)
