this afternoon's high temp: 82.6F (28.1C)
24 hour rainfall: 0.01" (0.3mm)
a thundershower is currently in progress this evening. it's been another day of morning sun and haze, with partly cloudy skies, rumbling thunder and a couple of light showers during the afternoon. seems we are firmly entrenched in a pattern here. judging from the satellite pics, these thundershowers along the himalayan front ranges are relatively weak for the most part, and should diminish by midnight.
the pre-monsoon doldrums are apparently upon us. there are no real distinguishing features in the upper-air pattern, as a general area of high pressure remains anchored to our west, with some weak disturbances rotating south-southeastward from central asia into kashmir and himachal pradesh. these disturbances contain little pockets of cold air aloft... providing the instability necessary for our random PM thunder action. a couple of the computer models are insisting that this risk of thundershowers will disappear, but considering what has happened the past few days, i think it's best to keep it in the forecast until we see tangible proof otherwise.
our temperature may have peaked yesterday... but we'll remain fairly close to normal for the first half of june right through the next several days with a slow and steady increase in humidity. no surprise at all for this time of year...
TUESDAY NIGHT: thundershowers in the area until midnight... then clearing overnight.
low: 22C (71F)
WEDNESDAY: a mix of hazy sunshine and some clouds. still that risk of a PM thundershower or two.
high: 28C (83F)
THURSDAY: hazy, partly cloudy and warm. a shower or thundershower possible during the afternoon.
high: 28C (83F)
FRIDAY: sun, haze and a few clouds. warm and kinda stuffy.
high: 29C (84F)
SATURDAY: partly sunny skies... warm and more humid.
high: 29C (84F)
SUNDAY: partly sunny, warm and muggy, with an isolated PM thundershower possible.
