it is totally overcast and foggy this evening... with a bit of drizzle and/or a couple of sprinkles at the moment. the high temp reached 75.9F (24.4C), and we've had 0.10" (3mm) of rainfall since this morning. on my balcony at the top of mcleod ganj, humidity has averaged right around 85% today.
although rainfall has been light so far... the moisture/humidity has made the air thick, so clouds and fog have been the dominant features of the day. i was pleasantly surprised this afternoon when i found that the IMD has agreed with us, and moved the leading edge of the monsoon much further northwestward to include the dharamsala area. check the map here. this means that the deep, rich, tropical moisture associated with the monsoon season has now officially arrived... i feel relieved, actually!
the discrepancies between the various computer models that i've mentioned recently appear to be disappearing as well... with a growing consensus that our chances for very heavy rainfall will be increasing, effective immediately. in fact, it looks like we will be in the thick of classic long-lasting monsoon downpours by late in the weekend or early next week. of course temperatures will respond accordingly... and will continue their downward trend...
