the sun is dropping toward the horizon at the end of a day that has been pretty close to perfect. we've had almost 100% sunshine, with the exception of just a few scattered cumulus clouds over the mountains during the first half of the afternoon. i've recorded a high temp of 77.5F (25.3C)... which matches the high temp of the year, back on march 15th.
satellite pics this evening show a couple of isolated thundershowers from kinnaur into uttar anchal... evidence of a bit of instability remaining over the mountains to our east. otherwise our nice big bubble of high pressure continues to build... and will keep us in line for more sunshine, and a sustained gradual warming trend over the course of the next few days. night time temperatures will be warming as well, so it may be time to pack away some of the extra blankets, finally.
we're going to have to watch for a bit of an increase in the chance of isolated thundershowers during the afternoons possibly as early as tuesday, but more likely by wednesday, as the surface temperatures warm up too fast for the upper atmosphere to keep up. but still... there are no organized storm systems on the horizon.
SATURDAY NIGHT: clear and mild.
low: 17C (62F)
EASTER SUNDAY: sunny skies and pleasantly warm temps.
high: 26C (79F)
MONDAY: mostly sunny... warming trend continues.
high: 27C (80F)
TUESDAY: sunny to partly cloudy. a mountain thundershower during the PM?
high: 27C (81F)
WEDNESDAY: hazy and warm with partly cloudy skies. an isolated PM thundershower possible.
high: 28C (82F)
THURSDAY: a mix of sunshine and clouds... hazy and still warm, with a chance of an afternoon thundershower.
high: 28C (82F)
