it's cloudy just before sunrise this morning, and i have a few sprinkles here at the wxgeek office. the current temp is a balmy 61.2F (16.2C), after an overnight low of 59.5F (15.3C).
kind of a tough forecast today... right now it is totally overcast, but satellite photos show a few breaks to our west. if clouds hang in all day, then we'll get very little warming, but if we can manage at least a couple of hours of sunshine, this airmass is warm enough to get us well into the 70s(F). at this point i think the best thing is to split the difference... it's gonna be one of those days.
the upper-level disturbance i've been talking about for the last few days is knocking on our door now. this is a really strong system for april, and as it moves through between now and monday, will bring us a very good chance of significant rainfall in the form of occasional showers and thunderstorms. i'm still pretty confident that the window of opportunity for the heaviest rainfall and most intense thunderstorm action will occur on sunday and monday. so it would be a good idea to be prepared for that... expect gusty winds to develop as well... along with a sudden turn to chilly temps for two or three days.
looking further ahead... an improving scenario awaits us starting on tuesday of next week.
