full sunshine this evening, after another day of sunny skies and warming temps. there were (again) just a few cumulus clouds over the mountains this afternoon, along with an increasing amount of haze... and a high temp here at the top of mcleod ganj of 80.8F (27.1C).
today was the sixth day in a row of steady warming, and it looks like we're not finished yet. in fact, there seems to be very little to stop the atmosphere from continuing its gradual move into the realm of summer. for weeks and weeks, we had an active jetstream running from the middle east into the western himalayas, but that dynamic flow has totally disappeared... replaced by a sprawling area of high pressure aloft. what that means practically is this: 1) no organized storm systems in sight, and 2) temperature running a bit above normal for the end of april.
a couple of our computer models are still hinting at some slight instability developing during the latter half of the week, which could trigger some isolated thundershowers over the mountains. but... with this pattern, it's going to be really difficult to get measurable rainfall in mcleod, even if a mountain thundershower does pop up.
MONDAY NIGHT: clear and comfortable.
low: 19C (67F)
TUESDAY: warmer, with hazy sunshine again...
high: 28C (82F)
WEDNESDAY: sunny to partly cloudy and hazy. slight chance of a brief PM thundershower.
high: 28C (83F)
THURSDAY: partly cloudy, hazy and warm, with a chance of an afternoon thundershower.
high: 28C (83F)
FRIDAY: more of the same mix of sun, haze and a few clouds. PM thundershower risk.
high: 29C (84F)
SATURDAY: hazy sunshine and a few clouds. still warm.
high: 29C (84F)
