it is cloudy, breezy and cool early this evening, with a few light showers around the area. i recorded a high temp of just 65.5F (18.6C) right after noon, before the clouds thickened up again. although there have been a few periods of sprinkles and light showers today, here at the top of mcleod ganj i have only 0.03" (0.7mm) to show for it.
well... the rain intensity has definitely diminished during the past 24 hours or so, but we haven't been able to permanently rid ourselves of the clouds and chilly winds. that's because our upper-level disturbance has chosen north india as its death bed. this thing isn't really moving anywhere... but simply sitting and slowly spinning itself out of existence. there is still a lot of cold air a few thousand feet above us, and as long as that is there, it will remain rather unstable. so, there will be no immediate return to dry and sunny weather, but occasional periods of clouds and perhaps a few light showers for another day or two.
the good news i've been talking about is still waiting in the wings... a major shift in the weather pattern will come in the form of high pressure aloft, which is now building out to our west. if we can be patient for another couple of days, we'll be rewarded with increasing sunshine and a major boost in temperatures for easter weekend...
