we have cloudy skies very early this morning, with a temp of 54.3F (12.3C). i also just noticed a few sprinkles when i went up on the roof... but i've only received an additional 0.04" of rain since last night's report.
this is one tenacious storm system! this morning's satellite photos and upper-air charts are showing the center of circulation over northern punjab.. which means it has moved very little in the past 24 hours. there is not a lot of moisture left, but the very cold air aloft is creating enough instability to cause the clouds and scattered showers to persist. during the next couple of days, this weakening system will drift slowly to the east and die out... but to be honest, i think we're going to have to put up with a threat of at least some light, scattered showers today, with slight chances even into tomorrow and thursday.
by the latter part of the week, there is some really good news... for the first time in many weeks, there is no approaching upper-level disturbance on the way to spoil the weekend. in fact, quite the opposite. it appears that a very calm, quiet and serene ridge of summer-like high pressure will finally become established from the arabian sea across afghanistan and pakistan, into northern india. if this scenario manifests, then we will be enjoying much warmer and sunnier weather by easter sunday. better late than never!
TUESDAY: mostly cloudy early... then partly cloudy. windy at times. still a few showers around, with a thundershower possible as well.
high: 20C (68F)
TUESDAY NIGHT: an evening thundershower..? then clear to partly cloudy skies.
low: 12C (54F)
WEDNESDAY: partly cloudy and a bit milder, with a slight chance of a PM shower.
high: 21C (70F)
THURSDAY: partly cloudy... still that pesky chance of a passing shower during the afternoon.
high: 22C (72F)
FRIDAY: partly to mostly sunny and nice.
high: 23C (73F)
SATURDAY: mostly sunny and pleasantly warm.
high: 24C (75F)
