more of the same... (pm.11.apr.11)>

the temperature is a cool 59F (15C) this evening, under cloudy skies.  the high temp today was 65.1F (18.4C), but that actually occurred just after midnight, before the showers and storms moved in.  i've recorded another 0.17" (4mm) of rain since this morning's report, bringing the total rainfall since yesterday up to 0.30" (8mm).  our observers near the main temple reported 0.15" (4mm) as of this morning, and i also have a report of 0.35" (9mm) from naddi village.

everywhere i went today, people were talking about how bizarre and strange it is to be having weather like this in the middle of april!  i also have a hard time remembering such consistently cool, cloudy and damp weather during this time of year.  last year at this time it was around 80F (27C) nearly every day, and people were in t-shirts and shorts.

this unusually strong upper-level disturbance is going to remain with us for about the next 24 hours.  all kinds of clouds blanket the area, with embedded showers and thundershowers quite common from pakistan into northern india.  it's likely that rain chances will diminish starting late tomorrow... and sunshine will gradually return as we get into the latter half of the week.  with the sun will come a fairly rapid turn to warmer temperatures... but we have a problem... yet ANOTHER storm system is expected to arrive this weekend!

MONDAY NIGHT: mostly cloudy, with another period or two of showers and thunderstorms likely.
low: 13C (56F)

TUESDAY: partly to mostly cloudy skies, with a good chance of a few more showers and possible thunderstorms.  unseasonably cool, again.
high: 19C (67F)

WEDNESDAY: partly cloudy and warming up.  just a slight chance of a thundershower.
high: 22C (71F)

THURSDAY: partly to mostly sunny and pleasantly warm.
high: 23C (73F)

FRIDAY: a mix of sun and high clouds... nice.
high: 23C (74F)

SATURDAY: increasing clouds, with a chance of some showers and thundershowers developing.
high: 23C (73F)
