skies are partly cloudy this evening before sunset... we had about a 50/50 split between clouds and sun today, along with some thunder during the mid-afternoon. as far as i am aware, there was no rain in the immediate mcleod ganj area... but i'm sure there were at least some sprinkles somewhere around greater dharamsala. i recorded a high temp of 74.5F (23.6C), which (shockingly) is the warmest of the month thus far.
the nice weather we've enjoyed during the last 3 days or so is going to be rapidly coming to an end. satellite photos this evening show all kinds of shower and thunderstorm activity to our west across much of pakistan... in association with yet another unsually strong upper-level disturbance. this weather system will be plowing through himalayan north india during the next 3 days or so, and will definitely stir up some significant storminess. rain chances will be on the increase starting right away... but i think the bull's-eye opportunity for the worst of it here will be between mid-day sunday and mid-day monday. once again, i wouldn't be surprised to see some rainfall amounts in excess of 1" (2.5cm) during the next 72 hours.
temperatures will begin a gradual decent during the next few days... still comfortable tomorrow, but dropping back well below normal between sunday and the middle of next week. our crazy april of 2011 continues...
