sunshine returns!... (am.8.feb.11)>

waking this moring to some cold temps, but a nice clear sky which is going to be full of sun in just a few minutes.  it's 38F (3C) on tushita road in upper mcleod ganj this morning... the coldest temp i've recorded in about 3 weeks.  satellite pics are showing that our menacing storm has now plowed eastward through the mountains and mostly dissipated, leaving a few feet of snow, and a couple of inches of rain in its wake... along with a lot of frazzled nerves, due to that non-stop wind...

things are looking up for us in the near term.  we'll see a good bit of sun the next couple of days, along with a gradual warming trend this week.  BUT, the flow in the upper atmosphere continues to be strong, and embedded with disturbances... that means we could see more periods of clouds, gusty winds, and scattered showers, especially toward the end of the week.  and although it will be a bit milder, i don't think we're going to reach the warm-ish range that we saw before the storm arrived last week...

by the way... i added a tab above "SAT VIEW OF MONDAY'S STORM"... check it out.
