balmy? (am.1.feb.11)

it's a balmy 45F (7C) here in mcleod ganj early this morning... and my first thought when i saw the temp was that i am going to have to pump up the high temperature forecast for the next few days!  we are really and truly going to be getting a little taste of springtime... and i seriously doubt whether there will be many complaints.

a ridge of high pressure is building in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere, while a southerly flow kicks in near the surface.  that is the recipe for milder weather, along with a good amount of sunshine... at least until the end of the week.  the next storm system is waiting in the wings, and will gradually make its presence felt with increasing clouds and an increasing chance of showers... from late thursday into sunday.

TUESDAY: mostly sunny skies... milder temps!
high: 13C (55F)

TUESDAY NIGHT: mostly clear... not too cool.
low: 8C (46F)

WEDNESDAY: sunshine, with a few high clouds.
high: 13C (56F)

THURSDAY: increasing clouds with a slight chance of a brief shower by the evening.  still mild.
high: 14C (58F)

FRIDAY: partly to mostly cloudy with some scattered light rain showers possible.
high: 13C (56F)

SATURDAY: mostly cloudy and a bit cooler... chance of a few rain showers.
high: 10C (50F)
