what a nice morning!! and what a gloomy afternoon. clouds have rolled in thick and heavy during the past few hours, and although i haven't seen any raindrops yet, it looks like there may be some light precipitation occurring further up the mountain. our high temperature of 57F (13.9C) occurred right around noon.
the upper-level disturbance responsible for our approaching wet weather is now situated over southern iran. it will strengthen as it slowly makes its way eastward during the coming 3-4 days. this is a very slow-mover, which will give it time to tap into some moisture from the arabian sea, increasing our rain chances bit-by-bit and day-by-day, right into early next week. the bull's-eye is on sunday and monday for the most significant rainfall, along with a good chance of some thundershowers and gusty winds. i still think the snow is going to stay above mcleod ganj... most likely even higher... above 2500m (8200ft) or so... but, by late monday or tuesday, we could see the snow line drop down closer to 2000m (6500ft).
it's a good idea to stay on top of the weather situation if you have any outdoor activities scheduled, or if you plan to be traveling during the next several days...
