yesterday's high temp: 69.8F (21.0C)
this morning's low temp: 61.0F (16.1C)
24 hour rainfall: trace
we have mostly clear skies at sunrise this morning, with a humidity reading of 81%. satellite pics show generally clear skies and smooth sailing from afghanistan and pakistan, across northern india, into nepal and most of tibet.
yesterday did turn out to be less dramatic than tuesday... and there was definitely more sunshine and an improvement in the fog situation. we're still not nearly to the crisp, bright blue skies that we're waiting for as autumn progresses, but yesterday was a small step in the right direction.
the flow in the upper atmosphere is from the northwest, and will remain so right through the weekend into early next week. at the surface, we're still getting a weak flow from the southeast, keeping that trapped low-level moisture from getting completely swept out of here. this spells a continuing trend of generally sunny conditions to start the day, followed by an increase in clouds (and a bit of fog) from noon through the early evening hours. isolated thundershowers have occurred every single day of the past week in the mountains from southern kashmir through himachal to uttarakhand... and i see no reason for that to change... so continue to be prepared for at least a slight chance of a sudden shower in the PM hours.
THURSDAY: mostly sunny this morning. partly cloudy by noon, with a risk of a PM shower.
high: 22C (71F)
THURSDAY NIGHT: an isolated evening shower possible... then becoming mostly clear overnight.
low: 16C (61F)
FRIDAY: a good amount of morning sun, followed by partly to mostly cloudy skies in the afternoon. slight chance of a brief shower.
low: 22C (72F)
SATURDAY: morning sun giving way to periods of afternoon clouds.
high: 22C (72F)
SUNDAY: mostly sunny AM, partly cloudy PM.
high: 22C (72F)
MONDAY: a mix of sunshine and a few clouds. pleasant temps.
