autopilot... (pm.12.sep.11)>

sunshine has been a rarity today... lots of clouds and periods of fog pretty much all day, with a hefty downpour of rain between 10:50am and noon, which delivered 0.70" (1.8cm) to my rain gauge at the top of mcleod ganj.  that brings the total for september up to 9.28" (23.6cm), which averages out to about 0.80" (2cm) per day for the month... above the norm.  today's high temp was just 71.6F (22C).

i really don't have much new information to convey... the usual suspects will remain in play, keeping us alternating between clouds, fog, downpours of rain, and the occasional period of sunshine (mainly in early mornings and again in the evenings).  forecast guidance tools do not give any indication of an appreciable reduction in moisture/humidity in the air, nor in general patterns from the surface into the mid- and upper levels of the atmosphere.  for the near-term, that means status quo.

one week from now, there could be some changes afoot.  will keep an eye on things and let you know if we might start to see the beginning of the end...
