yesterday's high temp: 70.0.F (21.1C)
this morning's low temp: 64.0F (17.8C)
24 hour rainfall as of 6:30am: 0.63" (1.6cm)
total rainfall since wednesday: 2.89" (7.3cm)
total rainfall for september thus far: 6.87" (17.4cm)
the sun is doing battle with clouds as it rises above the mountains this morning, after a night in which we received only 0.05" (1mm) of additional rainfall. satellite views this morning show a wide area of broken cloud cover over northern india, with some embedded light rain showers, but nothing more serious than that. of course that will change as the day goes on... any sunshine will heat up the lower atmosphere, create instability, and trigger scattered areas of rain and perhaps some thundershowers. locally heavy downpours are possible once again.
i'm still expecting rain chances to diminish somewhat during the first part of the coming week. however, tropical humidity/moisture isn't going anywhere, so we can look forward to this continued "surge and retreat" monsoon pattern right into the middle of the month. looking at extended range data, there is still no sign of a permanent monsoon withdrawal.
SATURDAY: clouds, some fog, and a few peeks of sun. a period of rain is likely, along with possible thunder.

SATURDAY NIGHT: a shower possible, mainly early, then partly cloudy overnight.
low: 18C (64F)
SUNDAY: a mix of clouds, sun, and fog. good chance of a period or two of rain.
high: 23C (73F)
MONDAY: partly sunny. patches of fog, along with a chance of a shower or two, mainly in the PM.
high: 23C (74F)
TUESDAY: glimpses of sun between clouds and fog. chance of a couple of PM showers.
