thunder risk returns... (am.25.may.11)>

it's hazy with patches of high clouds across the area just before sunrise.  the early morning temp is 72.3F (22.4C) in the upper part of town.  our clouds this morning are the remains of showers and thunderstorms which died out over central pakistan overnight.

after two totally dry and thunderless days, the chance of showers and storms re-enters the forecast today.  there is no strong, well organized storm system moving in, but instead, there will be a series of relatively weak upper-level disturbances drifting through between now and the weekend.  instability will be on the rise this afternoon into tomorrow, leading to the development of some hit-and-miss showers and thunderstorms.  just as we saw last weekend, there isn't a lot of moisture to work with... so we may again experience more thunder and gusty winds than significant rainfall.  in between the action, there should still be some nice periods of sunshine throughout the remainder of the week.

temperatures have warmed up again during the past 24 hours or so and except during periods of rain, will stay seasonably warm for the next several days at least.  climatologically speaking, the next 15 to 20 days are typically the warmest of the year in mcleod ganj...
