quite a variety of weather today so far... we had a good amount of sunshine which boosted us to a high temp of 82.6F (28.1C) during the late morning... followed by a period of showers without thunder during the noon hour... followed by a period of thunder without showers during the mid-afternoon. now, during the hour before sunset, we have angry-looking skies, with more thundershowers in the vicinity. i measured just 0.04" (1mm) from our mid-day showers.
the satellite view this evening shows two large clusters of thundershowers in the area... one just to our east, and one just to our northwest. as our anticipated upper-level disturbance approaches, i expect the coverage and intensity of showers and thunderstorms to increase; and it still looks like the best chance of some significant rainfall will occur between now and sunday evening. it won't rain all weekend... there will still be periods of sunshine... but be aware of the increased shower/storm potential. temperatures this afternoon have already dropped, and we can look forward to less heat throughout the weekend. it could be touch and go for the IPL cricket match between the punjab kings XI and the deccan chargers late tomorrow afternoon, with the thunderstorm threat.
there will be a resurgence of generally dry and warmer weather starting on monday. in fact, temperatures will probably rebound fully by the middle of next week.
FRIDAY NIGHT: showers and thunderstorms in the area (gusty winds, too)... otherwise partly to mostly cloudy and cooler.
low: 20C (68F)
SATURDAY: partly cloudy and not as warm, with a good chance of a couple of showers and thunderstorms.
high: 27C (80F)
SATURDAY NIGHT: good chance of a period or two of showers and thunderstorms.
low: 19C (66F)
SUNDAY: a mix of clouds and sun, with another round of thundershowers possible.
high: 26C (79F)
MONDAY: sunny to partly cloudy and warmer... with just a slight chance of a brief PM shower.
high: 28C (82F)
TUESDAY: mostly sunny and warm.
high: 28C (83F)
WEDNESDAY: warm, with lots of sun. a late-day thundershower possible.
high: 29C (84F)
